April 10th – Weekly Update for Parents and Students

Monday, April 10th: Instrumental Music. Instrumental music students will be performing in the Festival at 1:00 today at the theater in FFHS. Parents/families are welcome to attend, there is a minimal entrance cost for the festival.

Library and Phys-ed. Day of PINK…PINK SHIRTS will be given out!!
*Grade 7 class speech contest. Most Grade 7 students will be performing speeches in the theater for just Grade 7 students. Parents are invited to come and watch this informal contest (and just stay for their child’s speech). Please let me know ahead of time if you are coming, so I can arrange the order so you don’t have to sit through 2 hours of speeches, just to see your child. Stu
*Girls 7/8 basketball team will play St. Francis after school at St. Francis (we will walk over together after school). Parents/Friends and Family are invited to come and watch.

Wednesday Night: Family Well Being Night Fort Frances High School

Thursday, April 13th: All Grade 7 students will be presenting a poem together at the Festival at 9:00 today at the theater in FFHS. Parents/families are welcome to attend, there is a minimal entrance cost for the festival. Instrumental music cancelled today due to festival performance.

Track Team: Thursday, April 13th @1:30 – Track and Field team has a meet in International Falls today. Although this is a Grade 9-12 track meet, Grade 7/8 team members are invited to attend and will be allowed to choose ONE event to participate in as an introduction. Students will be pulled from class at 1:45 and the bus leaves at 2:00. Students will need to picked up after the track meet. Parents usually come and watch, so we have found in the past that very few athletes take the bus home. I am not sure when the track meet ends, but my cell # is 275-5790 for you to contact. A general consent (that will cover all trips), medical form and Athletes Code of Conduct will go home soon. Any questions, please text me!!

Tuesday, March 28th – Health and Phys-ed. Quest for Knowledge, Ojibwe Language Competition will be held today. Good luck to Seniors: Susan Andy, Louise Andy, Aara Kabatay, Mya Scott, Tira Prince Kendall Bruyere and Cheyenne Chambers. These student will be required to meet at J.W. Walker School by 8:15.

Regional Science Fair at FFHS (Mr. Thomson is the contact person). Grade 7/8 Girls Basketball Tournament at Robert Moore (coached by Mrs. Petsnick). Boys Grade 7/8 Basketball Tournament at Crossroads School (coached by Mr. Ogden)

Regional Science Fair: Emma and Paige will represent our school at the Regional Science Fair on April 1st at FFHS. Mr. Thomson will be at FFHS that day to let the girls into his classroom to get their boards. Any questions, please email me.

I am coaching the Girls 7/8 Basketball Team here at FFHS. We have three tournaments to attend on April 1st, April 22nd and April 29th. Please look at your girls schedules and let me know which tournaments you will be able to attend.

March 20th – Weekly Update for Parents and Students

Monday, March 20th – Instrumental Music

Tuesday, March 21st – Phys-ed is cancelled today, due to the OFFSA banquet that is set up in the gym. The Grade 7 classes will instead be going to watch MUSKIE HOCKEY at the Arena today for OFFSA (permission forms needed include Marcus, Tira, Brodie, Ashton T., Ethan, Kianna, Roman, John, Mya-Lee, Gerrit). Buses leave at 10:30. The cheer teams will be travelling to and from the game with our class as well. Students may have the opportunity to purchase snacks at the canteen if they bring money.
