Extra Curricular Weekly Memo

FFHS Student Council Reps: The Grade 7’s have voted and the results are in!!! A THREE way tie, so we are sending all three to the meetings. Congratulations Joelle Bruyere, Jake MacKinnon and Emily Bliss. They will go to the FFHS student council meetings every Monday from 11:30-12:00 for the rest of the year and help plan activities for our students and report to our classes what activities are going on around FFHS.

Unicycle Club: If you have a Unicycle and are currently able to ride it, we will have Unicycle MONDAYS for the next few weeks during the lunch hour outside. Learn to ride and new memebers will be welcome during our regular unicycle practices…these will start once Cross Country is over (October 14th). Our club will also be offering juggling and hoops this year! Can’t wait!

Circus Club…yes, that says circus club!!

In the fall, students were given the assignment of creating a School Community Project. Many students have followed through with their projects, which included creating school clubs. Katrina decided to create a Circus Club, with inspiration from her circus friend Grace. Katrina pulled 6 girls together to complete a grant application to purchase supplies, popcorn sales with the class were planned and Grace created a video about helmet safety to try and win some helmets for the club.

Results:
-The grant application results are not available until January, but we are waiting with our fingers crossed.
-The class popcorn sales raised over $600 for classroom clubs, so some of the money was used to buy 10 sets of juggling balls (our first juggling lesson took place today during lunch).
-The Safety helmet video won first place, but we are still waiting to see if they won any helmets (you can see the winning video below).

Next week will have an update from another student created club…POKEMON!
